Total Babes are often noted more for their Cloud Nothings connection than their own pop-garage
endeavors, but the scene gurus over at Pitchfork say of their debut Swimming Through Sunlight:

“Despite the shimmering title…Swimming’s a darker album than you might think. Most of the 30
minutes consist of fast, jovial-sounding power chords, yes, but beneath the fuzz is a series of songs that
builds a narrative about deteriorating love.”
